Copy the website files to another site of yours hosted under this account or to an FTP storage. Such copying is useful if this is a production website and you are planning to make major site changes. In such a case, you can clone the site to a staging environment and let your designers and programmers work on the clone without interrupting operations of the production site. Copying the site files is a part of cloning the site: You will also need to copy databases used by the site to complete the cloning. If you do not have another site to use as a staging environment, you can add a domain or a subdomain for that purpose.

This option can also be useful if you do not want to give the programmer access to the working version of the site, by copying the working site to the test environment, you can configure individual users for ftp and the control panel. When the work on finalizing the site is completed, you can also conveniently transfer the new version of the site to the working domain. We also recommend that you create backups before working on the site, which will always return to your working copy.

A pre-created subdomain will also be displayed in the drop-down list where you can transfer your site. For example, you can create subdomains old and new in addition to the main site. Using this tool, copy the main site to the new subdomain and to the old subdomain. Check for files and databases. Then provide access for improvements to new. Upon completion and functional verification, copy new to the main domain. Thus, the availability of a copy of the site in the old subdomain will save the original site and you can always return to it if during the work with the site errors and shortcomings from the developers who made the changes are detected.
