In our catalog, 3 SSL certificates are available for order, 2 of them are intended for use with Russian domains and one is intended for international domains.
In this article we will describe the most profitable schemes and describe them with examples based on different needs.
1. Example. For 1 domain in the international zone
International zones include such domains as .com, .net, .shop, .org and others. You can find a complete list of zones and their affiliations in the domains section.
In this case, SSL from the Sectigo (Comodo) certification authority is suitable.
2. Example. For 1 domain in the RU, РФ, BY zone.
In this case, you will need a certificate from the European authorization center GlobalSign; this SSL certificate has a higher price compared to the previous one.
3. Example. For 1 domain in any zone and all its subdomains
This option is convenient for companies that operate several internal services, for example:
- domain.tld
- crm.domain.tld
- servicedesk.domain.tld
- remote.domain.tld
The number of subdomains for such a certificate is unlimited (*.domain.tld). This option is profitable and easy to use. You do not need to order a separate certificate for each subdomain - you simply always use the same one in different systems - the main thing is that the main domain is the same.
4. Features
All certificates have a DV verification method (domain ownership verification), currently there are 3 verification options:
- By email
- DNS record
- HTTP file
You can choose a convenient verification method at the stage of placing your order.
4.1 Where did the Green bar go?
At one time, SSL certificates with a green line in the browser were popular; they had a type of verification at the company level, and 6 years ago they could still be found on various sites.
4.1.1 Disappeared forever and here's why
The green line was a way to clearly display information that you are on the official website of the company and can trust it. When you visited a website with EV SSL, Chrome, Mozilla, Safari, and Firefox would color the address bar green and display the registered business name in the address bar before the website URL.
Google explained why this was introduced change, stating that the Chrome Security UX team determined that the EV user interface does not protect users as intended. The team found that such an alert could sometimes be a hindrance rather than a help, while broader security research found that such a certificate did not protect against phishing attacks as well as they had hoped.
