To transfer Nextcloud application authentication data, you need to use standard Windows 11 tools. This is because the client itself stores application settings at:
C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Nextcloud\nextcloud.cfg
However, the password itself is stored within the operating system:
Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager
To launch it directly, use the command:
control keymgr.dll
Under the Windows Credentials section, you will find options for:
- Backup Credentials
- Restore Credentials
Use these to transfer credentials for applications like Nextcloud and similar ones. All profiles can be viewed and edited if necessary.
In addition to authentication data, the Nextcloud application also stores the proxy server password there, if one is configured.
Archiving includes all profiles and takes only a few seconds, allowing you to quickly transfer all profiles to a new VDS using a master password.
