In the hosting control panel, you can add both a domain and a subdomain. The difference between the type of addition lies in the following:
- Each plan has limitations on the number of domain names, while subdomains can be added without restrictions.
- Flexible access configuration: if you grant access to the domain, subdomains will also be accessible, as they have a nested structure from the domain.
- Backup and restore operations occur at the domain level, which means they apply to all its subdomains.
Depending on your goals, you can specify a subdomain as a new domain, and it will also work while having the more flexible capabilities listed above. Simply specify the domain as subname.domain.tld
, and it will be immediately accessible, provided that the main domain domain.tld
is also in the control panel and configured.
This approach allows you to develop a project on a subdomain while having all the capabilities as if it were the main domain.
When adding a domain, you can choose the type of hosting: website, redirect, or no hosting.
Please note! To host files and install an SSL certificate, you must select "website" as the hosting type when creating the domain. In this case, all possible settings and options will be available to you.
