In this article we will try to compare our web stack assembly and control panel for installation on a virtual server. We will compare the basic functionality to understand for which solutions the assembly outperforms the control panel.
We list the main assembly features:
- Already configured web server nginx and php-fpm
- FTP service for transferring files to the server
- Convenient database management phpMyAdmin
Thus, there is all the basic functionality for hosting a web project using all the same features as in the control panel, only for free and without unnecessary services.
The disadvantages of this solution compared to the functionality of the control panel:
- Lack of postal services, the ability to create boxes
- No application manager for automatic installation
If you use a separate mail server and constant configuration of php versions and other settings is not required, then building a web stack will be a more reliable and simpler solution, unlike the control panel, which itself requires updates, has dependencies on configuration files and generally has a more complex structure without significant benefit. Its advantage will undoubtedly be a large number of sites.
