For more than 30 years, everyone used the WHOIS service to check and obtain information about domains. On January 28 of this year, it was officially discontinued and will gradually be phased out. It is being replaced by a new domain information service — RDAP.
RDAP works via the web, delivering data in JSON format. A large number of zones from NewGTLD have already fully switched to using it, disabling WHOIS service support.
We have added RDAP support and made this service the primary source for obtaining domain information on the following page: https://synay.net/whois?query=synay.net
The WHOIS service continues to operate for zones that have not yet switched to RDAP and is used automatically. For zones that support both services, RDAP is used by default.
Within the next few years, the WHOIS service will be completely retired and will stop working.
