To purchase an SSL certificate for the purpose of subsequently installing it on a virtual server, we will need to generate a pair:
- Request (CSR)
- Key (KEY)
This pair is always connected and it is very important to use this particular key obtained when generating the CSR request. This can be done in different ways. The easiest and most convenient way is to generate them using the online tool available on our website. Online tool for generating a request and certificate key allows you to fill in information about the owner and receive files.
The request file must be used on the ssl certificate order form.
The key file will be needed in the future for use in conjunction with the one received after paying for the order on the VPS server itself.
After paying for the order and confirming domain ownership via:
- DNS record
- File
You will receive a certificate file (CRT) by email; it will contain a chain of root certificates for correct operation in all browsers and other services on your server.
Now you just have to place two files in the folder, the received certificate file (CRT) and the key file (KEY). Next, specify these paths in the settings of the services for which you want to assign it, for example, a web server or mail server.
Afterwards you will need to restart the service and check its operation. The procedure takes no more than 30 minutes. If necessary, you can contact support by providing access to your server.
